Bio:
Born and raised in Southern California, followed my interest in industrial organization to Citi after graduation where I did credit analytics in NY, energy lending in TX, and sales in CA. Most recently led a nine-month strategy project in Singapore where I revamped a team's business development strategy. Then quit to get my MBA, and I'm currently in my first year. Trying to do consulting but dependent on recruiting/internships.
Career Advice:
1) Don't network too early, and network to get top-of-mind share rather than asking for a referral; 2) If applying to a large company, apply for backups at that same company and simply network your way to where you want to go if things don't work out initially; 3) It might be hard to figure out your passions so focus on the little individual things/activities that make time pass the quickest and eventually stitch those together; 4) It may be advantageous to **initially** do something less interesting but more prestigious rather than something smaller because it will open up more options; 5) Watch what you say/do at work until you 110% trust the people you are with.
