Bio:
I manages due diligence, entitlements, design, and construction for Gibbins Kaplan Development - a real estate development firm I started with my business partner in 2018. Prior to GKD, Taylor directed due diligence, underwriting, and construction at Williams/Dame & Associates. Experience include: multi family development, managing construction and opening of a 205-key hotel, managing the design, entitlement, and construction of a 180,000 SF Class A office building, development consulting for a 380-unit mixed income residential project, and leading early due diligence and design for a new 5-star hotel. In addition to Development, Taylor has worked in city planning and architecture. She is a Portland native and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Urban & Environmental Policy ad a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.

Career Advice:
Ask professionals what they like about their jobs. Working in a profession is always different than studying it academically. Don't be afraid to ask people to shadow them for a couple of days to understand what the day-to-day is like in different roles.
