Hey y'all, my name is Selasi and I just graduated in May 2020 remotely. I'm currently working as an Associate at Mercury, a public affairs firm in LA that I was interning at while I was on campus (found it on Handshake). At Oxy, I really loved how much the community was willing to be honest and critical about our school and then create positive change for incoming students. I think that this platform is really important because it addresses a need that has existed for many students on campus and then tries to put forth a great solution! (Shouts out to the founders!) I have experience in communications and PR/public affairs, but I am willing to help anyone who needs it!
Career Advice:
Right now your plans might not be solid, but don't be afraid of the feeling of uncertainty. I didn't (and still don't) have solid plans my senior year and things ended up working out. It's important to be flexible with your expectations about your path, but make longer term goals you feel like you can reach. Be on top of everything you would like to go for, but keep your options open because you never know where an opportunity might come from.
