Bio:

Hey Oxy Students! My name is Pierce DiMauro and I graduated in 2020. What I love about Oxy is that across all disciplines, we as a community are connected with research and internship opportunities throughout Los Angeles County. Additionally and rare for a liberal arts college, we offer pre-health students a wide array of classes to prepare them to enter many allied health professions like occupational/physical therapy, nursing, and sports medicine.

Career Advice:

Outside of your major and minor studies at Oxy, you'll have the opportunity to take classes purely out of academic curiosity. Take advantage of this time to explore your interests and advertise all that you've learned. For students entering healthcare, the writing skills and critical perspectives you'll obtain will be so helpful in participating in evidence-based practice and advocating for your patients. Take advantage of working with your professors and do all that you can to find clinical experiences during your undergrad experience. I am more than happy to answer questions about Oxy's partnership with City of Hope and offer advice on applications to their program.
