Bio:
I am a Washington, DC native who was always pushed to leave home and explore the world outside of DC. That's how I ended up attending Occidental, traveling a fair bit after undergrad, and most recently moving to New York. In my current role I work as a digital strategist for Foglamp Digital (a startup political digital communications firm). I spend a lot of time drafting email communications for my clients and building digital fundraising strategies to help clients raise money, acquire new members, and work to win advocacy campaigns. The political field and working for smaller organizations/start ups are rarely straight forward and clear cut positions but I have come to enjoy the journey. I want to be a part of the mentor network, because I think my education at Occidental is what best positioned me to successfully navigate a non-linear career path. For that, I want to help empower future generations of Occidental students by helping them understand the value that their liberal arts education provides in the rapidly changing world we currently live in.
Career Advice:
Never give up. Pick your own path and believe in your ability to accomplish what you set your heart on. Find a good crew of friends and mentors that will pick you up and keep pushing you forward when times are hard.
