Bio:
I've wanted to work in the photo industry for as long as I can remember. I started out as a part-time assistant for an entertainment photographer during college, signed with a creative agency post-grad, and am now full-time working for Savage X Fenty.
Career Advice:
For creative industries in particular, success is largely about connections. Always make a great first impression, and be yourself! Don't be afraid to reach out to people whose work you love - see if there is anything you can do for them to get your foot in the door.
Don't show up to an interview wearing an ill-fitting suit from a parents' closet (a mistake I made). Wear something that's an extension of your personality that makes you feel confident and powerful. If you're uncomfortable in what you're wearing, it will show.
It's always a good idea to send out small gifts to anyone you've worked with during the holidays. A small gesture goes a long way and really makes you stand out. Google the psychological principle of reciprocity - it really works :)
And of course, always put in 150%!
