I was born and raised in New York. After I left Oxy, I knew that I wanted to come back and pursue a career that combined my interests in business and journalism, since I loved my economics classes yet also thoroughly enjoyed my experience working for The Occidental. I am currently a Media Analyst at Teneo, which is a CEO advisory firm that intersects public relations, management consulting, investor relations, and restructuring. As a media analyst, I monitor the news for many Fortune 500 companies and generate business insights about how the media perceives their CEOs. I want to be a part of the mentoring network because I want to connect with Oxy students and alumni and help them in any way that I can!
Don't be afraid to ask people what they do and if they like it/don't like it, what their hours are like, etc. Even if you don't like your current position, someone you know might be in a field that's super interesting. Also, if you have any opportunities to get lunch with your team or go to a happy hour after work, do it! It's important to get to know the people you work with.
